Iker Irisarri
Postdoc iker.irisarri{at}ebc.uu.se Digging the information of current genomes to understand our evolutionary past is one of the greatest opportunities of our time. My research combines bioinformatic and evolutionary analyses with genome-scale data to resolve different evolutionarily relevant questions. I have a broad experience with various biological systems and I am particularly passionate about phylogenetic methods. Recently, I focused on studying difficult phylogenetic questions and their associated methodological challenges such as systematic errors. My work at Uppsala University aims to clarify the relationships among major eukaryotic lineages with an emphasis on understanding the primary acquisition of plastids.
