I completed my undergraduate studies at Macquarie University (Australia; 2010-2013). I then received a master’s degree in evolutionary biology (MEME; 2014-2016), during which I carried out research projects at Uppsala University (Sweden), LMU (Germany), and Station Biologique de Roscoff (France), and developed a strong affinity for the curious and wonder world of protists.

For my PhD, I have been investigating the environmental diversity of protists by combining long-read sequencing technologies with phylogeny-aware methods. I am interested in using this data to link ecology and evolution at macro scales, and answer questions about protist biodiversity.
